化学性质:
白色至淡黄色结晶或结晶性粉末，无臭，味苦。易溶于二甲亚砜或氯仿,较易溶于醋酸，较难溶于甲醇、丙酮或乙腈，极难溶于乙醚或异丙醇，几不溶于水。熔点178℃。
用途:
吡咯酮类镇静催眠药，有催眠、镇静、抗焦虑、肌松和抗惊厥等作用，作用较快。可用于失眠症的治疗，特别是暂时性入睡困难和早醒的患者。由于对呼吸系统的抑制作用极小，因而不影响次晨的精神活动和动作的机敏性。还可用于麻醉前给药。
