Property: Slightly bitter, odorless or have a slight mercaptan odour. Very soluble in chloroform, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, soluble in benzene or ethyl acetate.
Usage:
Spironolactone for competitive aldosterone inhibitor, the drug itself is not active, diuresis and endogenous aldosterone competitive antagonism occurs, which belongs to the potassium sparing diuretics.
1. Edema disease, combination with other diuretics, congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, renal edema, edema disease, its purpose is to correct the above diseases with secondary aldosterone secretion, excretion of potassium and against other diuretics; also used in the treatment of idiopathic edema
2. Hypertension, as adjuvant therapy for hypertension.
3. Primary aldosteronism, spironolactone can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
4. Prevention of hypokalemia, combined with thiazide diuretics, enhance diuresis effect and prevent hypokalemia.
